Pop-Up Submissions, 12th August

Litopia’s Pop-Up Submissions™ demystifies the manuscript submission process.

This is a brilliant opportunity to showcase your work directly to the publishing business – and to be a fly on the wall as your submission is considered.

Watch every Sunday as literary agent Peter Cox and his invited guests review the weeks’ manuscript submissions live and on-air.

For the first time ever, writers can now witness their submissions being evaluated.  “We’re taking the mystery out of the process,” says Peter.  “And that’s to everyone’s benefit.”

If you can, join us live on Facebook, YouTube or Twitch.

  • The Binding of Isaac by Omri Boehm

Start a story that never began and won’t end, spreading like chill to everything made of words, the kind of release that comes from depriving your most often used senses and engaging the ones you neglected.

From recent débuts to classics, fiction to non-fiction, memoirs, philosophy, science, history and journalism, Burning Books separates the smoking from the singeworthy, looking at the pleasures (and pains) of reading, the craft of writing, the ideas that are at the heart of great novels as well as novels that try to be great, but don’t quite make it.

    Pop-Up Submissions, 5th August

Traditionally the manuscript submission process has been cloaked in mystery. “No writer really understands how their submissions are evaluated,” explains literary agent Peter Cox. “It often takes many weeks for writers to get a response. And a rejection slip explains nothing.” Last year, Litopia made history when it opened up the submissions process to public scrutiny. Every Sunday, Peter reviewed his submission pile on Facebook Live; while the authors themselves watched and even commented in the chat room.
